6 Things To Do Post-Workout

Going to gym but not seeing any result? might be because you are not giving enough attention to your post-workout activities. What you eat and do following your workout dramatically impacts your result.

It helps in maintaining optimal energy level and helps in restoring your vitality. It helps in proper recovery and keeps your body healthy, energized for rest of the day.

It assists in maintaining right balance of protein and carbohydrates. Let’s now discuss the important things to do after workout.

  1. Cool down
  2. Stretch
  3. Stay hydrated
  4. Eat something healthy
  5. Give yourself a massage
  6. Get a shower

 

1. Cool down- Exercising fiercely raises one’s body temperature and makes your blood vessels widened. To make your blood vessel back to normal, you need to relax your body.
2. Stretch- After workout it is essential to stretch your muscles and lengthen otherwise it will lead to muscle soreness. It brings back your body to a resting state.
3. Stay hydrated- It helps in improving muscle flexibility, building strength and prevents muscle soreness. Drinks such as coconut water, green or black tea gives you relief from muscle cramping.
4. Eat something healthy- Have a meal within 45 minutes after working out. Food containing carbohydrates and protein helps in recovery process.
5. Give yourself a massage- Use a foam roller it helps in recovering from workouts and minimizes post-workout soreness.6. Get a shower- Change your clothes as soon as you are done with your workout and get a shower. A cool shower increases the healing process and reduces inflammation.
